Industry shows support on Maddie’s Day

Once again, we were overwhelmed by the incredible support from the merchanting and supplier sector on Maddie’s Day this year. On Friday 20th September, the industry came together, turning yellow on social media, offering messages of support and raising funds – funds that will enable Construction Youth Trust to support young people to overcome barriers and discover careers in this sector they didn’t know existed.

There were some great fundraising ideas in play too!

Keyline South & South East sales team did a sponsored walk on Maddie’s Day, visiting every location on the London edition Monopoly Board. They photographed themselves at each of the 22 streets and 4 stations and covered over 40,000 steps each – all dressed in yellow of course!

Keyline’s Monopoly Board walk has already raised over £10,000

And for those of you who know Paul Pamment, you’ll know that his long hair has for years been a part of his persona. So the decision to have it cut short to raise awareness of Maddie’s Day was a big thing.

Paul says:

“I really wanted to do something that people would talk about and take note of, to put a spotlight on Maddie’s Day and the Construction Youth Trust Charity this year, something many people didn’t believe I would go through with.”

More funds were raised at the annual Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) Members’ Day, with guests adorning their black-tie outfits with yellow at the gala dinner to mark Maddie’s Day.

Thank you to everyone who took part, showed their support, raised funds, and spread the word about this incredible campaign, which is providing support to so many young people in memory of Maddie Rose.
